Valley Racks to Expand Operations in Grenada, Add 10 Jobs
Grenada, MS (October 11, 2016) – The Grenada County Economic Development District (the EDD) announced today that Valley Racks, a steel fabrication company, is expanding its operations in Grenada, creating 10 new jobs.
“Valley Racks’ decision to grow in Grenada is a testament to the state’s supportive business climate, which continues to create jobs for Mississippians and create more vibrant communities throughout the state,” Gov. Phil Bryant said. “I wish the Valley Racks team many more years of success in Grenada County.”
Valley Racks’ expansion will increase the company’s capacity, allowing for the acquisition of new projects.
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance for infrastructure improvements. Grenada County is assisting with the expansion, as well.
“MDA is pleased that Valley Racks is expanding its operations, creating new career opportunities for the people of Grenada County,” said MDA executive director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “We salute the teamwork of the Grenada Economic Development District and the Grenada County Board of Supervisors, which is a model of effective partnership that benefit the people of Grenada County and the State of Mississippi.”
The Grenada EDD worked closely with the county, MDA, and the North Central Planning and Development District, and company officials to facilitate the project and secure a Rural Impact Fund grant that Grenada County will use to install a new sewer line to serve the company.
“We have been in communication with Valley Racks about their infrastructure needs for a while and we are very pleased that together we have found a way to assist them with needed improvements that will help them reduce cost and become more competitive,” said Darrell Robinson, president of the Grenada County Board of Supervisors. “Our partnership with MDA and the The EDD allows us to respond to the needs of even the smallest of our manufacturers as they expand and hire more people. We are proud of our partnerships and the job creation benefits that they bring to Grenada County.
Valley Racks currently employs 19 in Grenada. In addition to steel fabrication, the company provides water jet, laser, and powder coating services.
