Grenada EDD Seeks Nominations for Corporate Citizen of the Year
The Grenada County Economic Development District (the EDD) invites nominations for the 2016 “Grenada Corporate Citizen of the Year Award.”
“This awards program is significant because it is important that we highlight the contributions made to our local economy by companies committed to the economic and social well-being of Grenada,” said Pablo Diaz, EDD executive director. “We encourage the community to nominate companies for recognition.”
The deadline for nominations to be received by the EDD is Tuesday, August 30.
The Corporate Citizen of the Year program recognizes local companies that improve the local economy through job creation and private investment, human resources development, and above-and-beyond corporate social responsibility. An award will be presented in each of two categories: companies with more than 100 employees and companies with fewer than 100 employees.
The winners will be announced in October and recognized at the EDD’s annual meeting.

2016 marks the third will be the third time the corporate recognitions have been made. The bi-annual program was established in 2012 and held again in 2014.
“It is important that we celebrate and support businesses that invest in Grenada County, create jobs, and care about the wellbeing of our community,” said Darrell Robinson, president of the Grenada County Board of Supervisors. “This program provides that recognition and is a way for us to acknowledge the crucial impact they have on our local economy.”
